Wednesday, August 10Elk Mountain Brewing in Parker serves up a cask of some coconut porter today for its weekly Firkin Wednesday, running from 4 to 7 p.m.
Freshcraft, 1530 Blake Street, will turn over nearly half of its taps to Boulevard Brewing of Kansas City, which will be pouring eight beers, including Single Wide IPA, Zôn, Tank 7, Dry Stout on nitro, Harvest Dance Wheat Wine and its version of Collaboration No. 2 White I.P.A, which it did with Oregon's Deschutes Brewing.
The Yak & Yeti, 7803 Ralston Road in Arvada, releases the latest in its series of Wednesday wheats, Clove Wheat, today at 4 p.m.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project will release its first two bottled beers, Pure Guava Petite Sour and Wild Wild Brett Rouge tonight at 6 p.m. at Funkwerks Brewing, 1900 East Lincoln Avenue, Unit B, in Fort Collins, where Crooked Stave operates. There are about one hundred cases of each beer available. Each 750 ml bottle costs $12.99.

Odell Brewing head brewer Joe Mohrfield will be at the Rackhouse Pub, 208 South Kalamath Street, tonight from 4 to 6 p.m. to drink and talk beer with you. Rackhouse will have Odell beers like Myrcenary and St. Lupulin on draft and Odell will tap a special firkin of Mango Habanero IPA. The first fifty Odell drinkers will get a free pint glass.
Falling Rock Taphouse, 1919 Blake Street, will host a tapping party tonight for New Belgium Brewings' two latest Lips of Faith beer, KicK and Clutch. Kick is a collaboration sour between New Belgium and Seatlle's Elysian Brewing, while Clutch is a joint effort between New Belgium and the band Clutch. It's a sour stout.
Denver Beer Co makes its long-awaited debut at 1695 Platte Street today at noon, and owners Charlie Berger and Patrick Crawford will offer the first toast to everyone who turns out and stays late. "By the end of the night we promise your ears will ring from the clinking of pints and joyful shouts of PROST!" they insist. On tap: Platte Pils, Graham Cracker Porter, Kaffir Wheat, Gear Up IPA, Rye Twenty Five, Confluence Pale Ale, and Summer Stout. Denver Beer Co will also be serving giant German-style pretzels, and there will be also be food trucks on hand. Beer drinking will start around noon, although it officially begins with a ribbon-cutting at 7 p.m.
Dry Dock taps a cask of blackberry hefeweizen today at 3 p.m. as part of its weekly Firkin series. If you're lucky, they might tap a second firkin of something else later in the evening.
Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14
The ninth annual Craft Lager & Small Batch Festival kicks off today at Memorial Park in Manitou Springs, featuring the refreshing lighter beers of summer. The outdoor fest includes music, food, beers from more than thirty breweries and tastings from micro distilleries. It runs from 1 to 6 p.m. both days; general admission tickets are $15.

The 2nd annual Stapleton Beer Fest kicks off today at 4 p.m. at the Stapleton Town Center Green, and includes beers from Renegade, Oskar Blues Brewery, Odell, New Belgium, Left Hand, Great Divide, Del Norte, Bull & Bush, Copper Kettle, Avery, Coors, Caution and Breckenridge breweries. There will also be eight food trucks in the house and two bands, Opie Gone Bad and Chris Daniels & the Kings. Tickets to the cash-only event are $30, or $35 at the doors; they're available at www.stapletoncommunity.com.

Hops & Pie, will host its monthly Littlest Big Beer Fest today from 2 to 5 p.m. featuring three beers on tap from Dry Dock Brewing in Aurora (Lady Penrhyn Brown, Three Heavy Wee Heavy and Hop Abomination) and a firkin of Mango Pale Ale from Dry Dock firkin master Walt Chleva. Single pours and flights will be available.

Watercourse Foods will temporarily take over its sister restaurant, City, O'City's, beer firkin program while City is closed for an expansion. Tonight, Watercourse presents Viva La Firkin, combining a firkin of Renegade Brewing's Poblano Pepper Ale and Cuban-inspired menu at 4:30 p.m.

The Fort Collins Brewery will toast its fifth anniversary in its new location today with a party from 1 to 8 p.m. There will be games, food and live music from 2 to 7 p.m., not to mention plenty of brews, including hefeweizen, Millions of Peaches and Cream Ale.
If you've never been to the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, maybe this will be the key to luring you there: a craft beer competition culminating in Foam Fest, the fair's eighth annual beer extravaganza. Foam Fest will also be a chance to taste soon-to-open Arvada Beer Company's brews for the first time. Foam Fest takes place inside the Special Events tent from 6 to 10 p.m.; $20 gets you a commemorative beer and lots of the state's finest beers. Arvada Beer, which had planned to open in July, has postponed its debut until this fall, but it will have four beers inside the tent.
