It was almost two years ago that Colt & Gray owner Nelson Perkins announced his expansion plans: Colt & Gray would be growing into space next door, and in the basement space underneath the restaurant he would also build a brand-new cocktail bar, Ste. Ellie; Viande, a charcuterie kitchen; and two private dining rooms. Barring complications, Perkins hoped to have all parts of the project finished by summer 2012. But complications quickly piled up, and Perkins had to push his schedule back, and back again. Finally this spring, Perkins pulled his final permit and the project got back on track.

Here's the word from Colt & Gray's Facebook page:

That critical point in our re-model has been reached where Colt & Gray will be closing for a week of repairs and a facelift. Join us Sunday evening to help us clear out the kitchen's inventory and make merriment in the bar. Food and drink specials will be had all night and say goodbye to the original space that we have all loved for 4 years here in Denver.

And since Colt & Gray's bar has won numerous Best of Denver awards over the years, this is an offer too good to refuse.
