Crave Real Burgers dominated the Denver Burger Battle last night, earning First Place for Best Burger in both the judges' and peoples' choice categories.

"To have that happen -- and for it to be a double-win -- was such an elation," says Jeff Richards, owner of Crave Real Burgers. The name of Crave's burger, "Love Stinks," was inspired by its ingredients: fried onion, raw onion, roasted garlic and garlic aioli. The burger also featured an Angus beef patty, candied bacon, roasted red pepper aioli, and roasted red peppers.

This year's contenders for best burger in Denver included: Crave Real Burgers, Highland Tap & Burger, Larkburger, Acorn, Tag Burger Bar, Drifter's, Old Major, Williams & Graham, Ste. Ellie, Humboldt and The Populist.

Judges Paul Reilly, Justin Cucci, Theo Adley and Jeff Osaka tasted all twelve burgers and declared Crave Real Burgers the winner.

"We've got both the trophies in the castle rock store right now," Richards says. He plans to rotate them between all three Crave restaurants in the Denver metro area.
