Project Angel Heart is a non-profit organization that delivers meals to people living with life-threatening illnesses. Since its mission is primarily food-based, it makes sense that the biggest fundraisers every year are centered around food. April's Dining Out for Life brings in the most money for Project Angel Heart every year, but A Taste for Life also does well: last night's event brought in over $175,000 for Project Angel Heart's programs, according to Amy Daly, vice president of development for the organization.

Tickets for a Taste of Life, held at the Hyatt Regency at the Colorado Convention Center, were $150 per person, which included food and drink tastings from some of the city's top restaurants, bars and food producers. "We're immensely grateful to the food and beverage industry," says Daly. "They make it happen for us every year."

In addition to foods samples and cocktails from Denver chefs and bartenders, the event featured a silent auction with restaurant packages, bottles of wine and liquor and gift baskets donated by metro-area businesses.
