A sign on the door of the restaurant that opened in late 2009 states: "We are sorry to announce that this Earl's location unfortunately closed its doors on Friday, June 20," and directs customers to other Earl's locations. There are still two Earl's outposts in the Denver area: one in Park Meadows and another on the 16th Street Mall.
And Earl's sent out this followup note Monday afternoon:
Earl's, like many of our neighbors, struggled with the ongoing construction around us. Numerous street closures for well over a year, the loss of street parking and access blocked to additional parking, even occasional power loss, made it difficult to conduct business in any kind of consistent manner. Surrounded by additional construction by the City of Denver in the past two months made it impossible to continue to operate and like a number of other neighboring businesses, this location is, unfortunately, closed permanently. We thank you for your past patronage; staff and management will be relocated to our two locations downtown and in Lone Tree. We look forward to welcoming you there.
