Eight Tastiest Events on Denver's Culinary Calendar, April 8-10

The Rockies swing into action at Coors Field today for the team's home opening, an event that's practically a local holiday; see our list of ten places to celebrate Opening Day. But there's much more to Denver than the Rockies (which you'll appreciate in a few months of baseball games), and the weekend's culinary calendar is full of wine tastings, festivals and more. Friday, April 8 

The Denver Art Museum pops the cork on a weekend of fun with the museum's spring fundraiser, Uncorked. From 6 to 9 p.m. tonight, the museum will host a tasting featuring more than 300 wines from Colorado and beyond, spread through three tasting areas manned by winemakers and winery representatives, as well as food from Kevin Taylor Catering, a silent auction and more. Tickets are $100 for museum members, $135 for non-members and $55 for designated drivers. First Taste tickets will also be offered for an additional $45, allowing guests to enter the Uncorked Wine Tasting an hour early at 5 p.m.  Tickets can also be purchased at the door for an additional $10, subject to availability. You Are What You Eat, a show of food-centric collages and photography by Barbara Gal, opens at NEXT Gallery with a reception from 5 to 10 p.m. today with food samples and a wine tasting by One Hope Wines. Spangalang Brewery is celebrating its first year in business with a three-day birthday bash today through Sunday, April 10. The brewery will be opening a pop-up patio for the weekend, and pouring a lineup of limited releases each day. There will also be live music, a beer brunch, and more. Denver Beer Co. is releasing its Cocoa Cream Graham Cracker Porter today at noon.  The first 100 guests to buy a bomber of the beer will get a seat around Denver Beer Co.'s campfire, where they can make their own smores (supplies provided). Saturday, April 9 

The Source's  #sourcepopup spring market takes place today and tomorrow, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will feature artisan crafts and goods from vendors like Valentich Bags, Simply Guapa, Mercury Mercury Design Lab, Craft Boner, Witch Collective, PB Love, Sasquatch Co & Supply, Willow Boutique and more. Sunday, April 10 

Linguist Dan Jurafsky will be talking about his new book, The Language of Food, at the Boulder Book Store starting at 5 p.m. today.
