While some people think of slavery as an archaic practice of a bygone era, many people today are still confined by the shackles of slavery. The numbers are startling. According to Love146, a foundation working to end child trafficking and exploitation, an estimated 20.9 million people are enslaved today. According to End Slavery Now, more than a quarter of those living in modern slavery are children. Today you can help Love146 stop the exploitation and trafficking of children during the nonprofit's Hope Is Brewing fundraiser.

The fundraiser will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Factotum Brewhouse, 3845 Lipan Street. Hope Is Brewing will feature food, fun and a special beer brewed specifically for Hope Is Brewing: the Lady Justice Emancipation Red IPA. Love146 President and Co-founder Rob Morris and Executive Director North America Jim Ehrman will be on hand to talk about the movement to end child sex trafficking and how to make a safer world for children. The event is all-ages, and families are welcome; non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Tickets are $35 for the Flatirons package, which includes dinner, beer, a limited-edition Love146 Brew, and a custom Hope Is Brewing glass, or $50 for the Pikes Peak Package, which includes all that and a gift basket. Get your tickets and learn more at love146.org.

(By the way, Factotum celebrates its anniversary on the nineteenth of every month — which means today. If you picked up a Cheers to One Year commemorative glass at Factotum's official one-year anniversary party in February, bring that glass and your punch card for a BOGO beer any time today, and any nineteenth of the month for the next year.)
