Friday, July 8
New Belgium Brewing’s seventh annual Clips Beer & Film Tour is rolling into Boulder today. The free event features short films and a selection of hard-to-come-by, small-batch beers, with 100 percent of the proceeds from beer sales going to Community Cycles. Beers are $1.50 for a 3 ounce sample, or $6 for 12 ounces. Earlier this month, Lone Tree Brewing Company and Odell Brewing Co. collaborated on an American IPA brewed to support CancerBlows, an organization that supports the Ryan Anthony Foundation. The beer will be available today during Brews 4 CancerBlows, five-course beer pairing dinner at Lone Tree Brewing Company. Tickets cost $65 per person, and can be purchased at Lone Tree Brewing Company or online here. More than half of the ticket proceeds will benefit CancerBlows. The beer will also be on draft at the brewery tomorrow for a Brews 4 CancerBlows event, when $1 from each beer sold will be donated to the charity.
The Wildlife Experience at CU South Denver will hold a screening of Ridley Scott's 1979 genre-bending classic Alien at today's Movie and a Martini. For $28 you'll get two drinks, hors d’oeuvres, popcorn, access to the museum exhibits and the feature presentation. Bruz Beers is celebrating its grand-opening weekend with three days of seasonal and specialty beers, food trucks, live music, entertainment, giveaways, prizes and even kids' activities. The 20th Annual Biergarten Fest will pour into Morrison for the weekend. The family-friendly festival will feature German food, entertainment, live music, dance groups and beer, of course. Breckenridge Brewery's Annual Hootenanny takes place today at the brewery's Littleton headquarters. There will be live music — headlined by Big Head Todd and the Monsters — as well as a pig roast and plenty of beer. The hootenanny runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets range from $26 to $45; grab yours here.
Head to the hills for the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous, which takes place at Salida's Riverside Park today. There will be 75 Colorado breweries pouring unlimited beers, along with live music and more. Tickets are $15 for designated drivers, $40 for general admission, and $120 for VIP; get them here.
Denver Beer Co. and Outdoor Project are teaming up to put on the Mile High Summer Shindig and block party, today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Denver Beer Co. Today is Old Chicago’s fortieth birthday, and it's partnering with Samuel Adams to host the World’s Largest Tap Takeover in more than ninety restaurants across the country. Alpine Dog Brewing has put together a five-course beer-and-munchie pairing "specifically designed by two industry professionals at Alpine Dog Brewery for your 710 enjoyment," they say. Try five four-ounce beer samples, along with the appropriate munchie for each, for $15. "Because there's no better way to beat the lazy Sunday afternoon munchies than with some local beer and convenience-store snacks! Participants who stick around after the pairing will receive happy-hour prices on additional beers," the brewery adds. "We will only be selling forty spots, so act quickly and share with your friends."
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse will host a celebrity dinner to benefit Eddie’s Kids Foundation from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Tickets are $200 for a four-course dinner with wine pairings, gift bag and a voucher that can be exchanged for four tickets to a 2016-2017 Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth or Colorado Rapids regular season game.
