Like the Oregon outposts of the Fire on the Mountain chain -- which was named after a Grateful Dead song -- this one will feature a full menu of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and desserts in addition to award-winning wings and sauces. Owners Craig Oberlink and Andrea West also plan to source as many local ingredients as possible, including local brews, cider and spirits.
"Supporting local businesses and staying green is important to us," says Oberlink. "We're really proud to be a certified green restaurant by the City of Denver. We'll also be composting about 95 percent of our waste."
"The city has been really helpful, too," he adds. "We're very happy to have received a loan from the Office of Economic Development, which really helped."
Fire on the Mountain will host a grand-opening event for the neighborhood sometime in the next few weeks; watch for updates on the restaurant's Facebook page.
