The mini burger empire, which is owned by the Taos Restaurant Group -- they who own Old Blinking Light in Taos and Highlands Ranch -- uses fresh, all-natural, hormone- and antibiotic-free Angus beef that's seared on a steam-powered grill and char finished. And since it's based in New Mexico -- Hatch green chile country -- there are, of course, green chile cheeseburgers.
"Being in the restaurant business is what we do and love. A memorable dining experience and a great burger is what we want the customer to walk away with," says Bob Gontram, the founder of Five Star Burgers, who adds that the Denver store will also carry local brews and serve, as does the other stores, a burger of the month.
When Five Star Burgers opens, it will have plenty of competition: Diego Zheng's Burger Cafe and Tarbell's, the recipient of our 2011 Best of Denver burger award, are also located at the Streets at SouthGlenn.
