Food Truck Renegades (formerly Food Truck Warriors) kickoff party rescheduled for May 27 -- and you can eat and drink for free!

Late last month, a cartel of food trucks -- Street Eats, the Crock Spot, Biscuit Bus, Steuben's, Max Lunch, Brava Pizzeria, Stick It to Me, The Bon Bon Buggy, Mikes2 Kitchen, Mythos Greek and Sweet Revenge Cupcakes -- were all set to congregate in the parking lot on the corner of Ninth and Bannock to host the first Food Truck Warriors kick-off party, but the threat of snow prompted the trucks to postpone the pavement feast, which meant that our contest giveaway, in which we were rewarding two Cafe Society readers with $25 each in free food/beer to the launch party, also had to be postponed.

In the meantime, the Food Truck Warriors, conceived by Rich Wong, who owns Street Eats, has a new name: Food Truck Renegades, a change, explains Wong, that stemmed from the desire to "go in a different direction." Suffice it to say, he notes, that the "Food Truck Renegades are for food trucks, by food trucks" -- and the new name, he promises, will stick.

The bash, which also includes beer from Left Hand Brewing, kids' activities, and spins from DJs Ginger Perry and Mikey Thunder, has been rescheduled for this Friday, from 4 to 9 p.m., at the same Ninth and Bannock location. "Rain, shine or snow, it's a go," says Wong. And so is our contest, which is simple:

In ten words or less, tell us why you deserve to stuff your gullet and/or drink yourself into a drunken stupor.

PLEASE post your submissions in the comments section below our original contest post (don't post them here!), so we've got them all stored in one place. And make sure you leave at least your first name and a valid e-mail address so we can contact you if you're one of the champions.

Deadline to enter is noon today; we'll announce the two winners at 6 p.m. this evening.
