From Truffles to Tunes: Twelve Tastiest Events on the Culinary Calendar

Filled with everything from fried chicken to a biergarten festival, the culinary calendar is sizzling this week. Here are twelve of the tastiest events on the menu:

Monday, July 6 

It's National Fried Chicken Day and Max's Wine Dive is celebrating by offering a buy one, get one free deal on its Southern fried chicken all day long. Call the restaurant at 303-593-2554 for all the delicious details. 

If you're an alum of Johnson and Wales University, you can enroll in the school's Meat Cutting Boot Camp that runs today through Wednesday. The curriculum includes demonstrations by some Denver’s top chefs, field trips to the Rocky Mountain Institute of Meat and the Seattle Fish Company, seminars, dinners and plenty of kitchen time. Tuesday, July 7   

Harman's is rolling out a special $20 menu today that pairs barbecue and a variety of bubbles as the third in its series of monthly three-plate tasting menus. It's available after 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday until July 31. The menu includes spiced lamb ribs; smoked carrots with crispy pig ear; and pork belly pastrami with peach barbecue sauce, each paired with a sampler of sparkling wine.
Coohills continues to present the Beats on the Creek series; tonight the featured band is My Blue Sky, an Allman Brothers tribute band. The free concert runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; for more info, call Coohills at 303-623-5700.

Wednesday, July 8 

At 6:30 p.m., Firenze a Tavola will host a dinner featuring the wines of the truffle capital of the world, Umbria. The restaurant will be pouring three wines paired with a truffle-inspired feast for $58 per person; make a reservation by calling 303-561-0234. 

Elway's Backyard will open at 5 p.m. and the free music will continue on the patio of Elway's Cherry Creek today when The Long Run takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. For reservations and more information, call Elway's at 303-399-5353.

Get out and enjoy the beauty of Colorado while sipping wine at one of Beaver Creek's wine excursions today. Friday, July 10

The nineteenth annual Biergarten Festival will bring German culture, traditional German food, entertainment, music, dance groups, family fun and beer — of course! — to Morrison this weekend. Admission is $5 at the gate today and tomorrow, $1 from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday and $3 from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, there will also be an all-you-can-eat brunch for $15 (children $8), while supplies last. For more information, click here.
