In honor of National Honey Month, Cured, 1825 Pearl Street in Boulder, has invited Beth Conrey, president of the Colorado Beekeeping Society and owner of BeeSquared Honey, for an in-store honey extraction and discussion today from 3 to 6 p.m.

Conrey will be sharing her extensive knowledge of beekeeping and honey production, a passion she has pursued for the past decade. There will also be an entire "smoked-out" (meaning no bees) hive set-up so that you can extract your own honey. Call the store at 720-389-8096 for more information.

And if honey isn't enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, head back to the shop tomorrow. From 1 to 4 p.m. on September 15, Cured will host a free chocolate tasting featuring Life Opening Chocolates -- a Boulder-based company that produces "raw organic chocolate that is free of dairy, soy, gluten and nuts and sweetened only with agave."
