Sounds like fun -- but also a far cry from Kevin Taylor Steak, which was supposed to open at the hotel last September. Then its debut was pushed back to this May. And now, although there's a prominent sign advertising the restaurant outside the complex, it could be months before the restaurant makes its appearance -- if it ever does.
"It's in a holding pattern," says Kristin Hutton, KTRG's marketing director. "I don't have an opening date. We're waiting on some information for the developer."
John Muller, the general manager of Broomfield's Aloft, says the hotel is waiting on Kevin Taylor. Which means that contrary to the Aloft website, right now you can not "sit down and savor a satisfying meal at Kevin Taylor STEAK, our handy in-house restaurant."
At least the KTRG website refers to the restaurant in the future tense, promising it will be "warm, inviting, modern and lively."
But then, Kevin Taylor is already plenty busy with his eponymous restaurant, Restaurant Kevin Taylor, at the Hotel Teatro; Prima, located downstairs in the same hotel; Palettes at the Denver Art Museum and Limelight at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. And then there's KT at the Opera House (tied to events at the Ellie Caulkins facility) and Rouge (the mountain chophouse at the Teller House, which is open when the Central City Opera is in season).
