Fans of the crispy potato pancakes called latkes that were the specialty of Park Hill eatery Latke Love — until it closed a year ago after being unable to reach an agreement with the landlord — will be happy to know that the owners have signed a new lease and will again be open for business this summer.

Co-owner Steve Shander says he's not yet ready to divulge the location, but adds that "we figure we'll be open in about two months." When this Latke Love opens, it will be open six days a week (closed Mondays) for breakfast and lunch and will also have a liquor license. "We'll have a bar this time," Shander notes.

In addition to creatively topped latkes, Shander says there will be other "traditional Jewish foods with a twist," including knishes, blintzes, deviled eggs and pigs in blankets.

Latke Love was originally started by Shander, his wife, Tina, and his sister Dina, who operated a latke food truck for a year before the Park Hill location opened. That site lasted a year.
