We're fairly short on New York-style delis in the Mile High City, and if your inclination was to head downtown to Mendelson's Deli every time you were craving a bite of the Big Apple, you're going to have to find an alternative.

The shop, which was owned by Queens native Danny Pisarra, has been serving downtown denizens pastrami on rye and sliced-to-order subs for nearly ten years, but it shuttered on Friday after giving up its lease on its ground-floor high-rise address.

We hear rumors that another deli concept may be taking over the space and that Mendelson's is looking for an alternative downtown address. We'll keep you posted.
