Eat Boston and Water for People are teaming up to bring you a rebellion of the tastiest variety tonight. Whiskey Rebellion, a showcase of American brown spirits that highlights the role of water in the American whiskey distillation process, will take over the Curtis Hotel from 6 to 8:30 p.m. tonight. And Beast + Bottle will be hosting its own form of rebellion: Mutiny on the Bottle, with guest chef Brandon Biederman of Ace/Steuben's.

The Whiskey Rebellion, which focuses mostly on bourbons and ryes, will feature a number of whiskey producers and suppliers, including Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, Breckenridge Distillery and Downslope Distilling, among others. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample twelve American whiskeys, attend a cocktail demonstration and enjoy complimentary snacks throughout the evening.

But the event's goal goes further than showing you a good time. In addition to teaching you about water's role in the distillation process, the organizers of this event hope to shed light on the water crisis on both a local and global level -- and what we can do about it. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to support Water For People's efforts to bring safe drinking water to communities across the globe. Tickets are $37 or $75 for super-support tickets that let you skip the line, and you can get yours here. For more information on Water for People and its mission, visit waterforpeople.org. For Mutiny at the Bottle, Biederman will be joining Beast + Bottle chef/owner Paul Reilly to prepare a five-course meal for $75; optional wine pairings are an additional $28. A percentage of sales will be donated to the Colorado Flood Relief Fund.
