The beer, brewed in the Belgian tradition with an American twist, will be released at a special party at all Colorado Old Chicago locations at 6 p.m. tomorrow -- and a street team will be on the 16th Street Mall at noon August 4, inviting passersby to the tapping and giving away 500 Old Chicago Mystery Cards with values up to $100
Old Chicago -- which, despite its name, actually opened its first location in Boulder in 1976 and now has 65 restaurants across the country -- already offers 110 beers from around the globe, which regulars can sample on the Old Chicago's World Beer Tour. Through September 5, the last day for Buddha's Hand, tour members can try the the Breck brew for a unique World Beer Tour credit as well as "good karma."
"We were excited for the opportunity to be the only restaurant, bar or retailer to carry Buddha's Hand, and celebrate in the success of a longtime partner and fellow Colorado native, Breckenridge Brewery," says Karen Lozano, director of marketing for Old Chicago. "Then we tasted the beer. The flavor was so distinctive we decided to wrap a whole month around it and share the secret with all of our World Beer Tour members and industry friends."
