Zocalo Restaurant and Bar went dark on East 11th Avenue in August after being seized by the Colorado Department of Revenue for unpaid taxes. There haven't been many signs of life since an auction in early September, but now a sign has appeared in the window indicating that the space will become Old Santa Fe Mexican Grille. There's no contact information on the sign or an expected opening date; however, an employee confirmed that it will be under the same ownership as the Old Santa Fe Grille on Parker Road in Aurora. (A restaurant of the same name in Louisville is independently owned.)

Two Zocalo locations went out of business in 2014; the second, on South Broadway, closed in April after less than two years at that address.
