"We're going to give the food the same obsessed-with-quality attention that the brewers give to their creations," Rogers promises.
Rogers lives in Lyons and has known Katechis for some time; the fit seemed ideal, according to beerman Marty Jones, Oskar's spokesman. "Jason brings a motherlode of skill and savvy to our family," Katechis adds. "He'll dramatically improve the quality of our food and how our kitchens are run."
Rogers was most recently the executive chef at Second Home in Cherry Creek. Before that, Rogers was the culinary director at Jill's Restaurant at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder; Rich Byers, a former Jill's sous chef, now runs Oskar's kitchen in Lyons and will stay in that spot while Rogers focuses on Longmont.
