Oysters are like Crocs -- you either like them or you don't. But those plastic shoes will never be a thing of beauty, unlike oysters prepared the right way and served with a beautiful bottle of wine. Tonight Oceanaire Seafood Room will host an informative dinner that highlights both fruits from the sea and land. See also: Guess where I'm eating oyster nachos

Kevin Joseph of Blue Island Oyster Farm and Jennifer Lumley of Terlato Wines International will be on hand throughout the evening, to answer questions and share their vast knowledge of the history of both oysters and wine. Oceanaire executive chef John Robinson will create a six-course, oyster-themed meal to complement selected wines. (You can see the menu on the Oceanaire website.

The event starts with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m.; tickets are $65 (plus tax and gratuity). To make a reservation, call Oceanaire at 303-991-2277.
