It was eating for art's sake earlier this week as Mexican artist and 2015 Biennial of the Americas ambassador Cristobal Gracia organized a French fry eating contest under the "Articulated Wall" sculpture at the Denver Design District on South Broadway. Contestants were tasked with downing three pounds of Wendy's french fries each in less than 15 minutes; the winner received $200.

"Articulated Wall" is an exact replica of a sculpture by Herbert Bayer originally built in Mexico City for the 1968 Olympic Games. Gracia's fry-eating contest fits in with his artistic themes of gluttony and the sculpture's passing resemblence to a stack of fries. See our complete slideshow for more photos by Brandon Marshall.
