Primebar, a restaurant "that proudly features local products, including produce and proteins from around the state, local spirits and wine and and all-Colorado draft beer list," opens this evening at 1515 Arapahoe Street, in the space that formerly housed Palomino, which closed in January 2008.

The menu, created by Max Mackissock, who was hired as the exec chef but is leaving after this weekend to head up the kitchen at the Squeaky Bean, is a mix of small plates (deviled eggs, steak tacos, oyster shots, sliders and smoked salmon corn cakes), sandwiches and burgers and large plates, including steaks, fish and pastas.

While you're there, make note of the "beautiful staff, stiff drinks and hip music" -- all of which the website trumpets.
