Harris will be teaching participants how to make a hearty green salad with quinoa, whirlpool egg, citrus, cashews and carrot dressing. Join Slow Food Denver and Chipotle at The Source for a special screening of the James Beard Award- nominated documentary Eating Alabama. The film follows a young couple who return to Alabama on a journey to eat the way their grandparents did -- both locally and seasonally -- and their struggles after finding out how much the food system has changed since their grandparents' time. Stir Cooking School will be shaking up several different classic cocktails and teaching participants their secrets at a Cocktails 101 class. Smashburger is opening its 25th Colorado location today in Centennial, at 15795 East Arapahoe Road, Suite D. Through July 14, this Smashburger will be accepting donations for Jessie's Homes for Families, an organization that provides shelter, nutrition and resources to homeless families living in the Denver metro area. This is the twentieth anniversary of Dining Out for Life in Denver, and more than 250 Denver and Boulder‑area restaurants will donate 25 percent of their food sales today to Project Angel Heart, which provides life-sustaining meals for Coloradans suffering from life-threatening illnesses, including HIV and AIDS. During the first Burger Night of spring, both locations of Marczyk Fine Foods (17th Avenue and Colfax Avenue) will be cooking up Niman Ranch burgers freshly ground on-site, then serving them on fresh brioche buns with all the fixin's, including Marczyk's bacon aioli, for $8.99.
