While the homegrown Smashburger chain continues to rack up smashing stats, adding locations across the country as well as two more in the metro area (there are now 21 Smashburgers in Colorado), another attempt at creating a burger chain has gone flatter than a smashed patty. Both H Burger locations have closed, leaving just the Little H Burger fast-casual spot on Colorado Boulevard. Judging from the comments, readers weren't big fans of H Burger -- but some commenters think other beloved local burger joints are overrated, too. Says Cody:

Don't know why Smashburger, Larkburger, or Cherry Cricket are even in consideration... Smashburger plain sucks on a regular basis. Larkburger, while delicious, is the overpriced small-portioned hipster gourmet mac store version of a burger joint. And it baffles me how Cherry Cricket gets on TV shows when it's little more than your average bar food, with WAY more hype and cost.
What do you think of Smashburger, Larkburger and the Cherry Cricket? What's your favorite burger in the Denver area?
