See also: Q's in the Hotel Boulderado closes, making way for Spruce
Spruce now has a raised seating area in the center of the room, as well as new lighting, furniture, upholstery and flooring that blends with the original, century-old mosaic tiles. Other historic elements of the space remain, too, including the stained glass windows and crown moldings. But chef Sean Murrell, who's been running the Q's kitchen for the past three years, has also created an all-new menu, with an emphasis on fresh seafood (oysters!) and local produce, with a list printed each morning that highlights the day's catch. And there's a cocktail list to match.
Spruce is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday; happy hour runs from 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays. The restaurant will serve brunch from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and then reopen for dinner at 5 p.m. Go to the Boulderado's Spruce page for more detals, and watch for more on Spruce later this week on Cafe Society.
