Taste the wines of California, New Zealand and Spain at a trio of dinners tonight

A number of restaurants are uncorking wine dinners tonight, featuring vintages from California, New Zealand and even Spain -- all paired with dishes from local kitchens.

Coohills will feature wines from California vineyards tonight at a reception that starts at 6:30 p.m., and then continues with a seated dinner. Featured vineyards include La Crema (Monterey), Cambria (Santa Maria Valley), Champ de Rêves (Anderson Valley), Atalon (Napa Valley) and Stonestreet (Alexander Valley). Each wine will be paired with a dish created by chef/owner Tom Coohill. Tickets are $85, plus tax and gratuity; for a spot, call 303-623-5700.

If you like to travel further afield for your wine preferences, the Park Hill Golf Course will be hosting a wine-tasting event dedicated to over 100 wines from Australia and New Zealand, paired with appetizers. The wine will be flowing from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; tickets are $35 today, and can be purchased online or at Argonaut. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Women's Bean Project.

Take a trip to Spain with master sommelier Doug Krenik at Arugula Bar e Ristorante, where he'll guide guests through a tasting of Spanish wines -- one white, three reds and one sherry -- starting at 6:30 p.m. Th wines will be accompanied by a Spanish-inspired menu created by chefs Alec Schuler and Sven Hedenas. Tickets are $45, with an additional $35 per person for the wines (plus tax and gratuity); to reserve a seat, call 303-443-5100.
