Restaurants in and around Denver make Thanksgiving easy with gourmet take-home meals and stellar dine-in service. Make your plans for this year’s feast with our annual roundup featuring prix fixe menus, buffets, à la carte options and heat-and-serve dinners for one or the whole family.

Many eateries have put their spin on traditional Thanksgiving fare, elevating dishes and meeting a range of dietary preferences. American Elm’s Thanksgiving to-go package is $245 and feeds six. It includes a fourteen-pound spatchcocked turkey from Bowman & Landes family farm, where turkeys are vegetarian-fed and free-range. Sides consist of biscuit stuffing, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and Southern-style green bean casserole. More sides, dessert cocktail kits and bottles of wine are available for an additional cost. Pre-order online by 5 p.m. on November 17 and pick up on November 22 or 23.

The Bindery’s take-home Thanksgiving package features a sixteen-to-twenty-pound Barber’s whole roasted turkey and gravy, shallot mashed potatoes and bourbon mashed sweet potatoes, plus your choice of sourdough or gluten-free quinoa stuffing. The $425 eight-person kit also includes Brussels sprouts gratin, cranberry relish and roasted acorn squash with cardamom-spiced pears.

Add to the feast with à la carte sides like kale salad ($30) and truffle mac and cheese ($39), which serve eight. Bakery items can also be purchased separately, including a half-dozen sweet potato buns ($16) and nine-inch pies ($35-$36) with flavors like pumpkin ginger pecan, apple and pear caramel, chocolate chess and Basque cheesecake. The recently expanded butcher shop at Blackbelly Market is offering two breeds of naturally raised turkeys this Thanksgiving. Select from Barber’s classic Broad Breasted White turkey and Joyce Farms’ Heritage Black, believed to be the breed the Pilgrims enjoyed. The birds are priced at $7.99 per pound and $13.99 per pound, respectively. Order on the Blackbelly website soon: Turkeys are only available while supplies last. Pickup is available on November 20, 21 and 22. The butcher shop and market will also be stocked with traditional Thanksgiving ingredients during those dates, which are also the times to pick up Blackbelly Market’s pre-ordered pies. Reserve $40 bourbon pecan pie, $30 pumpkin cheesecake or $30 Dutch apple pie by November 13.

The $200 four-person package features a hearty green salad with cranberry dressing, smoked turkey breast and confit turkey leg, maple roasted carrots, sausage and sourdough stuffing, roasted sweet potato and cheesy Brussels sprouts gratin, plus brown butter pumpkin pie for dessert. To create its fourth annual “Thanksgiving at Home” menu, 100 percent employee-owned Edible Beats took inspiration from its restaurants Linger, Ophelia’s, El Five and Root Down. The kit includes Barber’s all-natural turkey two ways: brined, roasted breast and pulled confit dark meat with gravy. The trimmings include garlic mashed potatoes, baby beet salad, green bean and delicata squash, marble rye stuffing and cranberry relish.

Vital Root, part of the Edible Beats restaurant group, is offering vegan and gluten-free Thanksgiving meals to go. They include stuffed acorn squash, mashed potatoes with celery root gravy, roasted vegetables, cranberry orange chutney, dinner rolls with maple butter and sweet potato-pumpkin pie. Order online via Tock.

Standard gluten-free as well as vegan and gluten-free meals are priced per person, costing $44-$63 each. A four-person kit featuring everything but the turkey can be purchased for $95. Edible Beats also has ten-inch holiday pies including rye whiskey pecan and Honeycrisp apple, as well as wine and Family Jones bottled cocktails available for separate purchase. Order on Tock by November 19 and pick up on November 21 or 22; 5 percent of sales will benefit Conscious Alliance, a nonprofit hunger relief organization.

In the heart of the city, this women-owned and -operated wine business produces bottles ($25 to $50) and four-pack cans ($18) of reds, whites and rosé using mountain-grown grapes. Its Bubble Universe, a carbonated Riesling, is perfect for giving a great toast. Order online and select either delivery or free pickup from its decanter, or tasting room, located in RiNo.

J Street Food Truck & Catering has two Thanksgiving meal packages: the $200 kit feeds four to six people and includes a five-pound turkey breast, while the $275 package serves ten to twelve and comes with your choice of whole roasted turkey or a whole smoked turkey for an additional $15. Both kits feature garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, roasted vegetable cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, herbed skillet gravy, cranberry sauce and challah pull-apart rolls, plus chocolate hazelnut pumpkin cream pie. Full and half-portioned sides (not including pie) are also available for $150 and $90, respectively, and can also be purchased à la carte.

In addition to dine-in seating on Thanksgiving day, the Kitchen is offering traditional holiday dishes to go. Order a fifteen-pound brined and par-baked whole turkey that feeds eight to ten people, or opt for the vegetarian autumn pot pie, served in a two-quart baking pan with plenty for six. The same two-quart size applies to the Kitchen's roasted leek-and-mushroom dressing, a fan favorite.

Other sides including herb-whipped potatoes, chilled bean mélange, urfa carrots, braised hominy, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted turkey gravy and cranberry chutney are served in one-quart quantities. A six-pack of par-baked rolls is also available, as are nine-inch pumpkin pies. Each item is ordered à la carte and can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on November 22. Place your pre-order on Tock by November 20, but act fast, as availability is limited.

Starting November 1, its bake shop will offer pumpkin chiffon and pecan butterscotch pies, apple cider and pumpkin macarons, brown butter spiced pumpkin cakes and more festive sweets. Place pre-orders on Tock with at least 48-hour notice and pick up through December 31, Thanksgiving day included.

Mondo Market

Mondo Market accommodates a variety of group sizes with its three meal packages: The $79.99 kit feeds two to three people, the $142.99 option feeds four to five, and the $195.99 package feeds six to eight. The small comes with your choice of turkey or ham for an extra $2. The medium includes a raw turkey averaging eight pounds, while the large kit comes with a raw turkey averaging twelve pounds. Mashed potatoes, herb stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and roasted Brussels sprouts are also included with each package.

Several items are available à la carte, including baguettes ($2.50 per) and beet salad ($7.99 per pint and $15.99 per quart), as well as pumpkin and pecan pie ($16.99). House-smoked ham can also be added to the medium and large kits, starting at $32.99 for two pounds. Pair roasted turkey or ham with its pommes purée ($10 per pint, $20 per quart) and add a housemade duck confit pot pie ($64) to the Thanksgiving table. Create a charcuterie board with duck rillette ($26), a variety of cheeses ($8-$25) and other accoutrements, including fresh baguettes ($6 per). The bakery’s sugary selection includes pumpkin ($35), apple and pecan pies ($40), along with an assortment of truffles, bonbons, macarons and more. The $145 entree includes confit local Yellow Jelly potatoes and beef gravy. Alternatively, order beef bolognese or vegetarian lasagna crafted with housemade pasta in its new, expanded space. Both are available in small ($30) and large ($55) sizes. Place an order on Tock and pick-up on November 21 or 22 between noon and 3 p.m.

Starting November 18, the new Bakehouse at Sắp Sửa will be open on weekends from 8 a.m. to noon offering classic Americana baked goods including turnovers, poptarts, pumpkin bars and boxes of holiday cookies — all inspired by chef Anna Nguyen's childhood memories of baking with her mom. For a taste of the upcoming selection, pre-order $20 coffee cake and $32 Thanksgiving pies (pumpkin and five-spice apple crumble) are available to order on Tock until November 15. Pick-up will be available November 22 between 4:45 and 6:30 p.m.

Meal kit company Spade & Spoon focuses on Colorado farmers and producers, and its “everything but the turkey” Thanksgiving kit is available across the Front Range. The $169 box serves six to eight and includes a Honeycrisp feta salad with kale and pomegranates; sweet potato dinner rolls; mashed potatoes with roasted garlic cream; sausage and apple stuffing; bacon and balsamic Brussels sprouts; and classic pumpkin pie. Yardbird recently opened in RiNo, and while its high prices may surprise, Westword food editor Molly Martin thinks it's worth the splurge. Its holiday to-go package features herb-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, sage and celery stuffing, glazed heirloom carrots, bourbon candied yams, cranberry relish and biscuits with giblet gravy. The small kit costs $310 and feeds two to four people, while the large costs $590 and feeds six to eight. A brown butter bourbon pumpkin pie, usually priced at $40, is complimentary if you order your Thanksgiving meal on Tock by November 1. Pickup is available on November 23.

The prix fixe menu starts with an hors d'oeuvre of chicken liver mousse, fig jam and brioche. The first course is your choice of harvest salad or squash bisque, followed by either roasted turkey with cranberry chutney and gravy or autumn pot pie with squash and root vegetables.
