Radek Cerny, the celebrated chef of L'Atelier (located at 1739 Pearl Street in Boulder), plans to open his second Boulder restaurant within the month, recession be damned.
Full Belly, which is going into 2779 Iris Avenue, will be a bistro-style place, Cerny says, and cheaper than L'Atelier, with dinner entrees averaging between $12 and $15. Full Belly will also serve breakfast and lunch, and use local ingredients as much as possible.
Chef Bradford Heap is going for a similar twofer concept, adding a Boulder restaurant in the former home of Tom's Tavern to go with his Colterra. It will be interesting to see how these accomplished chefs follow-through on their ambitious visions. But if L'Atelier's accolades (Best Big Plates and Best Menu in Westword's Best of Denver) are any measure, Cerny should triumph in his new spot.
