Brothers Andrew and David Marx are just about ready to open Drew's Deli at 988 Lincoln Street in the former home of Spicy Pickle. The signage outside the place has been promising as such for weeks, as has the restaurant's voicemail. But inevitable inspections have delayed things a bit according to the Marx brothers, who were covered in paint and jamming to tunes when we stopped by today.

"We can't wait to open up and get to know our neighbors," said David. "This is a great location and we have a killer menu that we're really excited about."

David represents the business and marketing side of the restaurant, while Andrew will oversee the kitchen, something he's had plenty of experience with at Jimmy & Drew's in Boulder, which has managed to earn national accolades for its sandwiches since opening in 2006. (That spot will soon change its name to Drew's to match Andrew's Denver project.)

The menu isn't available on the website yet, but the brothers promise an extensive board featuring classic deli fare, signature sandwiches and salads. Andrew and David hope to be open by next week and have plans to deliver to the surrounding area and cater for private events. Call the deli at 303-832-7999 for more updates.

Two other sandwich shops recently opened across the street in the Beauvallon building, DiFranco's and Attivo Pizza & Subs.
