Tonight, garden designer and cookbook author Lucinda Hutson will speak at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1005 York Street, as part of the Bonfils-Stanton Lecture Series. The garden will host an herb-garden tour at 5:15 and a Slow Food Denver tasting at 6 p.m.; the lecture starts at 7. Admission is $20 to $30, and series tickets are available for $110 to $140. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, you can stop by the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton, where the Community Supporting Agriculture Program, a new venture between Kaiser Permanente and the Botanic Gardens, will be introduced; you can buy shares in the CSA and receive portions of the gardens' fresh produce from June through October. The kick-off event will feature students from Primrose Elementary School in Lone Tree and some volunteers planting the garden's first crop of peppers and tomatoes.
