This nondescript apartment complex tucked behind a K-Mart and a Dollar Tree on South Cherokee Street doesn't look too impressive now, but once open, Denizen (as it will be called) will be mere steps away from the Alameda light rail station. So it makes sense for a cafe and bar to set up shop where there will soon be a multitude of new residents. A notice was recently posted on the south corner of the project stating that the White Whale Room has applied for a liquor license with the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses.

Rachael Gass, Dakin Cranwell and Brad Arguello are listed as the partners on the notice. Arguello is also a partner in the soon-to-open Avanti Food & Beverage project and was one of the founders of Uber Sausage.
