"Between Russell's Smokehouse and Green Russell, we've definitely hosted a number of spirit dinners, and a variety of beer dinners, but we've never hosted a seated dinner with both beer and spirits, in the form of a face-off," says Taylor Drew, general manager of Green Russell and Russel's Smokehouse, Bonanno's adjacent barbecue restaurant. "Our guests will get to decide whether the beer pairing or the spirit pairing elevates the course, so it's an interactive experience, and it's definitely going to be a great time," adds Drew, noting that "since the dinner takes place right at the Green Russell bar, there will be a lot of interaction with chef Tim Murphy and representatives from both Avery and Peach Street." Think of it, he says, as a "very fun dinner party with some serious beer and spirits experts."
And we're giving one lucky Cafe Society commenter and a guest the opportunity to attend the smackdown for free.
But in order to be in the running, you'll need to answer this question: How many barrel-aged Cheeky Peach cocktails can Green Russell get out of its Peach Street barrel before the barrel runs dry? The Cafe Society commenter who comes the closest to the actual number without going over, will win the two seats.
