Winter Brew Fest, tequila, wine and bowls on this week's culinary calendar

There are also tequila and wine dinners, the Winter Brew Fest and much more happening; here's a taste of what's on the menu.

Tuesday, January 24:

Rioja, 1431 Larimer Street, hosts Sips and Snacks, four tastes of selected wines with four bite-sized snacks from the kitchen. This week's theme: Little Funky Grapes. Admission is $15, and it starts at 5 p.m.; call 303-820-2282 or visit www.riojadenver.com.

Park Hill Golf Club, 4141 East 35th Avenue, hosts the Argonaut Wine Tasting; this month, it'll serve up wines from Australia and New Zealand, and proceeds will benefit the Positive Project. It runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and costs $30 to $35; call 303-333-5411.

El Diablo, 101 Broadway, hosts the Five-Course Tequila Dinner with Herradura tequilas. It starts at 7 p.m. and costs $75; reservations are required. Call 303-954-0324.

Friday, January 27:

Mile High Station, 2027 West Colfax Avenue, hosts the Winter Brew Fest, featuring more than 45 craft breweries pouring more than 125 brews, plus hard cider; the VIP session offers a cheese pairing. Saturday, January 28:

Luca d'Italia, 711 Grant Street, hosts Knife Skills for Couples: Deboning & Preparing Small Game for Meals. This week, rabbit. The Tears-McFarlane House, 1290 Williams Street, is the site of the Empty Bowls Fundraiser; there will be a variety of soups, bread, drinks and desserts, and each attendee gets a special soup bowl created by a local artist.
