  • Spools of Dark Thread's future uncertain

Although it hasn't been said as much outright, it sounds like Spools of Dark Thread's days may be numbered. Chris Thomas, Spools' furiously talented frontman (far right), revealed this afternoon that he and his mates are discussing whether or not the band will continue. Let's hope so. Spools has produced some of the most tuneful hard rock in recent memory. • MP3 Freeloader: Spools of Dark Thread's return, Saturday night at Herman's Hideaway

Jason Paul RobertsRemember way back in January when we speculated that Spools of Dark Thread was headed for a dirt nap, only to rescind our prediction a few weeks later when we received word that a few members had designs on soldiering on? Little did we know then -- especially given the fact that frontman Chris Thomas had moved on to front Random Friend Generator -- that the reminaing members in question were none other than Thomas himself and Jamey Crow Bartley. Nearly six months later, Spools
