  • Chris Gaffney tribute top seller at Twist and Shout

    ​Since Twist and Shout hosted an autograph signing with Dave Alvin at the L2 Arts and Culture Center, it might have helped push the Chris Gaffney tribute, Man of Somebody's Dream, to the top of the store's best sellers for the week ending August 16. After Gaffney died last year, Alvin recruited Joe Ely, Boz Scaggs, Los Lobos, James McMurtry, John Doe and others to pay tribute Gaffney, who was a member of the Hacienda Brothers.     ​Billy Joel and Elton John, both legendary pop singers and pianists, have been on their Face 2 Face tour since March will visit the Pepsi Center Sunday, November 22.     Root Down is looking good.​John Hickenlooper will announce the Mayor's Design Awards tonight, but we can tell you that two of the fifteen honorees are restaurants: Root Down and Marco's Coal-Fired Pizzeria.
