This year, we've wrapped our roundup of holiday albums a bit differently. Instead of delivering it to you in one big lump (like coal), we're parceling out the reviews online, with a blog each weekday through December 24 devoted to recordings in a different category. Part four features "Variety Packs" -- six new compilations that draw from styles like metal, pop, alternative (sort of), Latin music and, well, sexiness. Slip that in your stocking.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs' brand new album, It's Blitz, topped the best seller charts Twist & Shout for the week ending April 6 while new albums by Diana Krall, PJ Harvey & John Parish, Leonard Cohen and the Decemberists also grabbed slots in the top five. See the full breakdown after the jump.
The brand new Silversun Pickups album, Swoon, grabbed the top spot at Twist & Shout for the week ending April 19. Since the store was pretty busy on Record Store Day (April 18), it's not surprising that special releases for that day by Iron & Wine, My Morning Jacket and Tift Merritt also made the top ten. See the full breakdown after the jump.
Bob Dylan's Together Through Life, released last week on Columbia, grabbed the top spot at Twist and Shout for the week ending May 3. Depeche Mode, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Neko Case rounded out the top five. See the full breakdown after the jump.
