  • Name the new Justice Center for somebody just enough: Philip Van Cise

Philip Van Cise. On November 19, Mayor John Hickenlooper sent out the formal invitation, inviting locals to come up with names for the two new buildings that will comprise the Denver Justice Center Complex. • Justice Center campaign goes straight to video

In the battle over naming rights for Denver's new Justice Center, two clear favorites have emerged: Dale Tooley, the city's district attorney for much of the 1970s, and Philip Van Cise, the one-term DA of the 1920s who busted a sophisticated ring of con artists and took on the Ku Klux Klan. Philip Van Cise. As Christoper Osher reports in this Denver Post article, Mayor John Hickenlooper has added one more to the list of candidates whose names might end up on portions of the new city justice complex: Van Cise. Gangbusting DA Philip Van Cise, the son of a prominent attorney and father of a state appeals court judge, was snubbed by the task force appointed to come up with suitable names, as noted in my previous blog, "No Justice for Van Cise?" It would be tempting to believe that Hi
