  • New owners for Theorie

When they bought the site of The Real World: Denver series at 1920 Market Street (formerly B-52 Billiards), Shane Alexander and Josh Hawkinson had big plans for the ultra-swank nightclub and restaurant they planned to name Theörie. But the reality of running a restaurant proved much rougher than life on The Real World, and at the end of October, the space was purchased by Paul Piciocchi, owner of Sutra (1109 Lincoln Street) and Tryst (1512 Larimer Street). According to Tobi Salario, Sutraâ€

  • Alto space snapped up

The space at 1320 15th Street occupied by Alto until the end of June has been leased by Paul Piciocchi, who owns Tryst and last fall bought Theorie, the club that was formerly the Real World: Denver home (and B-52 before that). No word yet on what will go into the space, but since Alto had a hotel/cabaret license that requires at least 25 percent of revenue to come from food sales, we're assuming that either a restaurant -- or a liquor license modification -- will be part of the deal.

  • Tryst owner to open a sports bar, live music venue and gastropub in the former Alto space

As we reported here last month, the space at 1320 15th Street that had been occupied by Alto, Greg Goldfogel's Italian restaurant, has been picked up by Paul Piciocchi, who runs Tryst and Sutra Dance Bar & Lounge. And now we know what Piciocchi plans to put into that spot. "The location will host three 'themes' under one venue -- a sports bar/cocktail lounge called The Drink, a live music venue called Mix Music Lounge and a cozy restaurant called Downtown Gastropub," says Piciocchi, who ho

  • And that makes five...gastropubs

Denver's apparently getting a fifth gastropub -- and that could give Jason Sheehan a major case of indigestion, as you know if you've been following his gastropub rants right here on Cafe Society. As we reported last month, Denver's three existing, self-proclaimed gastropubs -- Jonesy's, Argyll and Colt & Gray -- will soon be joined by Downtown Gastropub, one of three new spots that Tryst owner Paul Piciocchi is putting into the former Alto on 15th Street. And now comes news of SKYB
