When they bought the site of The Real World: Denver series at 1920 Market Street (formerly B-52 Billiards), Shane Alexander and Josh Hawkinson had big plans for the ultra-swank nightclub and restaurant they planned to name Theörie.
But the reality of running a restaurant proved much rougher than life on The Real World, and at the end of October, the space was purchased by Paul Piciocchi, owner of Sutra (1109 Lincoln Street) and Tryst (1512 Larimer Street). According to Tobi Salario, Sutraâ€
The space at 1320 15th Street occupied by Alto until the end of June has been leased by Paul Piciocchi, who owns Tryst and last fall bought Theorie, the club that was formerly the Real World: Denver home (and B-52 before that).
No word yet on what will go into the space, but since Alto had a hotel/cabaret license that requires at least 25 percent of revenue to come from food sales, we're assuming that either a restaurant -- or a liquor license modification -- will be part of the deal.
​As we reported here last month, the space at 1320 15th Street that had been occupied by Alto, Greg Goldfogel's Italian restaurant, has been picked up by Paul Piciocchi, who runs Tryst and Sutra Dance Bar & Lounge. And now we know what Piciocchi plans to put into that spot.
