  • The hi-dive celebrates fifth year of being awesome

Five years? Seriously, has it already been five years since the hi-dive opened? Great scott, man, I guess it has. Wow, time really does fly, eh? Since we're leaving town around closing time on Friday night (well, Saturday morning, if you want to split hairs), it's doubtful that we'll be joining you for the entirety of what has all the makings of a lost weekend, what with all the kick ass bands that will be helping you celebrate -- Moonspeed, Bad Weather California, the Wheel and the Hot IQs on

  • Mile Hi-Fidelity playlist - 12.17.08

Man, what an unbelievably fun show we had last night on 101.5 FM. Eryc Eyl, Tom Murphy and A.H. Goldstein joined me in the studio for the first of a two part Moovers & Shakers special edition of the show. Over the course of two hours, as we discussed and played some of our favorite music from the past year, we swung through a wide array of styles, from shimmery indie rock and pop to psych pop and metal to hip-hop and jazz to folk and Americana. In two weeks -- we're taking Christmas eve off

  • Week in Review: 2/16/09 - 2/20/09

All right, so we've reached the end of another work week in the Mile High City. While we can no longer brag about having the best selling band in the country, from what we can tell, Denver music is still on the minds and in the ears of at least a few prominent folks in what's left of the industry. The highlights of the week: AP Magazine listed 3OH!3 as one of the one hundred bands you need to know in 2009, Jessica Sonner landed a song on an episode of HBO's Big Love, which is slated to air this
