Number 8: Lap dogs from Interstate Kitchen & Bar
At Interstate Kitchen & Bar, the emphasis is on lubricating your liver with whiskey, snatching a stool at the bar to satiate your late-night hunger pains (the kitchen stays open till 1:30 a.m. seven days a week) and partaking in happy hour, which, happily for us, is twice daily, from 4 to 6 p.m. and again from midnight to 1:30 a.m. It's during happy times that the kitchen pimps the lap dogs, which, unlike lap dances, are purely innocent in much the same way that inflated sausages are chaste. At the very least, the lap dogs, priced at a buck each, are a helluva lot cheaper than any lap dance worth its wiggle and jiggle. But even if they weren't nearly free, we'd still fall hard for these juice-spitting portly wieners squiggled with hot mustard, topped with pickled carrots, onions and peppers and propped atop grilled bread squares that, when folded, make perfect little sandwiches, even if they are prone to falling in your lap.
