100 Favorite Dishes: Samosas from the British Bulldog
No. 55: Samosas from the British Bulldog
The beer taps, affable tenders and rambunctious (but polite) soccer fans are just three of the reasons to make a pilgrimage to the British Bulldog, a convivial watering hole that also happens to pimp a menu -- the fourth reason to go -- of Indian and Pakistani dishes, most of which are exuberantly spiced, delicious and, if you care about such things, authentic. I've never had a dish here that I didn't like, but I'm head over heels in lust with the samosas, three generous golden globes of deep-fried dough busting at the seams with steaming hot smashed potatoes flecked with peas, onions and Indian spices, and served with a duo of chile-punched chutneys, both of which rival anything you'll find at most Indian restaurants.

In late 2009, we embarked on a culinary journey that took us through our favorite dishes in the Mile High City -- one hundred, to be exact. Now we're back with round two, counting down (in no particular order) a hundred more of our favorite Denver dishes in a list that, by our imperfect calculations, should be wrapped up...sometime this year. If there's a dish you think we need to try, tell us about it in the comments section below, or shoot us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
