Support the Prevent Child Abuse Colorado (PCA) initiative while sipping brews and shooting pool at the Wynkoop Brewing Company from 5 to 8 p.m tonight at the Pints for Prevention fundraiser. Tickets are $20 at the door and include one drink, appetizers and free pool; there will also be a silent auction.
Also tonight, cheese lovers can get a quick lesson during a thirty-minute mozzarella- making class at Wine & Whey, located at 3559 Larimer Street. Class begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include interactive instruction from shop owner Pamela Zorn, as well as countless samples of cheese. More cheese can be had at TRVE Brewing Co, which will host a beer and cheese tasting beginning at 7 p.m. Marczyk Fine Foods will supply the cheese; in addition to heavy metal, TRVE will pair each cheese with some of its specialty sours, two of which have not been released to the public. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online.
Mizuna and advanced sommelier Kelly Wooldridge are teaming up to create a paired Bordeaux, five-course dinner at 6 p.m. tonight. The selections will feature rare bottles of vintage Bordeaux such as Chateau Brianaire-Ducru and Reserve de la Comtesse.Tickets are $300 per person; for reservations, call Mizuna at 303-832-6600.
