Bonanno Brothers Pizzeria will open soon in Park Meadows -- and is hiring now
Frank Bonanno is bringing his pizza to Park Meadows.
The dining scene at Park Meadows has taken a few hits lately, with Grand Lux Cafe the most recent to leave the area. But it's about to get a heck of a consolation prize: Frank and Jacqueline Bonanno will be opening Bonanno Brothers Pizzeria, named in honor of their two sons, inside The Vistas at Park Meadows within the month. It will be the tenth restaurant in Bonanno Concepts, a group that currently includes Mizuna, Luca d'Italia, Bones, Osteria Marco, Green Russell, Wednesday's Pie, Lou's Food Bar, Russell's Smokehouse and Vesper Lounge. And it's hiring.
Bonanno Brothers Pizzeria is a tribute to Frank Bonanno's days growing up in New Jersey with his Sicilian family, folding pizza boxes at the local pizzeria in exchange for a slice of pizza. "The pizzeria is a direct reference to my family in a couple of ways," he says. "My family's construction company is called Bonanno Brothers, and since we couldn't have another Osteria Marco -- named after my oldest son -- we decided to name it after both of my sons, the brothers, Marco and Luca."
Bonanno has enlisted executive chef Dave Lindberg to execute the menu. Joining Bonanno and Lindberg, will be wine director Kelly Wooldridge and beverage director Adam Hodak, who're building a bar program that focuses on draft wines, craft cocktails and microbrews.
Like Osteria Marco, the pizzeria will emphasize casual, communal dining, and will feature an open kitchen with an Italian wood-fired oven as well as a charcuterie station. "Our signature burrata will definitely be on the menu at Bonanno Brothers, and I'm looking forward to offering cheese and salumi tasting plates -- very similar to what we offer at Osteria Marco," says Bonanno. "We'll also devote a portion of the menu to some of my favorite Italian dishes, including crudo and fritto."
