"We got the cans on Friday," says Breckenridge brewmaster Todd Usry. "Distribution will be limited to begin with, just Colorado and a couple of other select markets."
Breckenridge first began brewing Lucky U in 2009, dedicating the beer to the turn-of-the-century Tivoli Union Brewing Company, which used to occupy what is now the Tivoli student union on the Auraria campus; Tivoli Union made a beer with a similar name.
A portion of the sales from Lucky U are donated to the Tivoli Preservation Foundation, which pays for upkeep to the building, Usry says.
