Celebrate Makan Malaysian's birthday tonight
Chef-owner Karen Beckman makes char kueh tiao at Makan Malaysian Cafe.
Makan Malaysian, 1859 South Pearl Street, is celebrating its one-year anniversary this evening with an all-night happy hour (yes, the restaurant got its liquor license), and free snacks.
When Gretchen Kurtz reviewed the restaurant last November, it didn't yet have its liquor license -- but there was still plenty to like about the place, and you could wash down your authentic Malaysian meal with teh tarik, a tall glass of frothy, milky, very sweet tea or a cup of strong, Aussie-style coffee instead.
In addition to specials on beer and wine tonight, chef-owner Karen Beckman is providing complimentary curry puffs for all of her customers. The party runs from 5 to 9 p.m.; call 720-524-8093 for more information.
