Make a pig of yourself on Cinco de Mayo at Lola, 1575 Boulder Street, which is hosting its first annual Picnic of the Pig from 6 to 9 p.m. May 5. The event will also mark the Colorado debut of Republic Tequila, from one of Mexico's only certified organic distilleries. Reservations are very limited; for all the delicious details, call 720-570-8686.

There's fun all over town today, of course. From 3 to 5 p.m. May 5, Sunflower Farmers Market at 7725 Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada will offer a free Sunflower Salsa Sampling; call 303-463-4828 for more info. And if you find yourself down south, head to La Sandia at the Vistas at Park Meadows, which will feature live music by Manuel Molina on the rooftop from 6 to 9 p.m., as well as Cinco de Mayo food and drink specials. For info, go to www.modernmexican.com.

Finally, Marty Meitus, food editor at the now-defunct Rocky Mountain News, will sign copies of her Recipe Please: Favorite Recipes From Colorado Restaurants, at 7:30 p.m. May 5 at the Tattered Cover at 2526 East Colfax Avenue; for details, call 303-322-7727 or read our Night & Day story in the April 30 Westword.
