Denver Food and Wine Kicks Off Today With Four Days of Tasty Fun
Lori Midson

The Colorado Restaurant Association and Southern Wine & Spirits of Colorado are teaming up with local restaurants and businesses to present the eleventh annual Denver Food and Wine, a celebration of the culinary arts, wine and spirits in Denver. The four-day event gets under way today with a Sunset Idea House Tour from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring cuisine cooked up by Gabe Kennedy, Hosea Rosenberg and Elise Wiggins, paired with wine and cocktails from by Southern Wine & Spirits. The tour is $125 per person; seating is limited.

Tomorrow's big event is a five-course wine-pairing dinner at Panzano, complete with cocktail reception and celebrity chef guest Rick Tramonto. Panzano chef Elise Wiggins has created a four-course menu inspired by two of Tramonto's cookbooks, Amuse Bouche and Steak With Friends; a signed copy of a Tramonto cookbook is included in the $100 ticket — or pay $125 for a special seat at the chef's counter. For reservations, call 303-296-3525.

And on Friday, Denver foodies can dig into a Riedel Glass Seminar and the Alice 105 "End of Summer" Cocktail Party.

All this leads up to the Grand Tasting from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Metropolitan State University of Denver, which will highlight fare from more than 35 Denver restaurants, 700 varieties of wine and spirits, celebrity chef Rick Tramanto and more.
