Beginning today and continuing through Sunday, June 14, Steven Raichlen -- grilling and barbecue big shot, cookbook author (28 and counting), former Food Network host and current PBS television mouthpiece -- brings his big-man-on-campus barbecue prowess to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs for BBQ University, a fired-up, three-night, three-day interactive grilling course that teaches barbecue techniques to both nincompoops and proficients.

Barbecue University begins at 9 a.m. each day, with a lunch break at noon that includes all the dishes you've cooked in class. "The goal is for the students to learn not only what to grill, but how to grill, using the principles and techniques that will make them grilling rock stars," says Raichlen.
