The University Boulevard location of Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill has closed, but the homegrown Mediterranean fast-casual chain will continue to grow.

"It wasn't the best location for us," explains marketing and PR manager Beth Hardy, who notes that the University of Denver location, unlike two over on South Colorado Boulevard, had no parking. "There are other locations close by with parking, so most people decided to go there instead."

The closure leaves nine Garbanzo locations in Denver, as well as spots in Boulder and Colorado Springs. Adds Hardy, "It's sad, but it gives us more time to focus on our two new locations."

Those two locations include the first Garbanzo in Fort Collins, as well as a second Colorado Springs store.

Garbanzo got its start in Denver in 2007.
